Frequently Asked Questions
When is the best time to place my order?
We recommend that you reserve your plants as soon as possible to insure availability of your selections. Some varieties may have limited quantities or become sold out, especially during the early growing season.
When is the best time to plant?
Planting times vary by hardiness zone. The USDA has a hardiness zone map here which will help you find your best planting time. Early spring after danger of any hard frost has passed is an ideal time to plant many varieties.
How long after ordering can I expect to receive plants?
When you place an order for one or more plants, our checkout will allow you to select the week you want your plants shipped. If you do not select a ship date, we will select the proper time based on your hardiness zone.
Can I change my order or reschedule shipment?
Effective April 1st no changes can be made to orders during the week the order is to ship, typically changes can be made up to 5 days before the order ships.
When will you ship my order?
We will ship your order when it is the appropriate time to plant in your area based on the USDA Hardiness Zone Map. Note: Once April 1st arrives, same week shipping may not be available, we will do our best to get your order shipped in a timely manner but keep in mind it may not ship the same week as you ordered.
What is your guarantee?
Our guarantee is you will receive top quality products and plants that will break dormancy and grow, true-to-name, nursery inspected and vigorous in growth when reasonable and proper care is given. We also guarantee to ship plants on or before confirmed dates. If for any reason you are not satisfied, we must be notified within two months after shipment. We will either send replacements plants if applicable, refund your payment, or credit your account for future purchases. This guarantee covers full purchase and does not imply any further responsibility or liability. This guarantee does NOT cover plants shipped outside the recommended planting times or delays in planting due to inclement weather. Our company reserves the right to apply shipping charges on large orders of replacement plants. Your satisfaction is our priority at Indiana Berry & Plant Company.
When will you charge my credit card?
For orders $100 or less payment is due in full at the time of the order, or a check can be mailed within 10 days. For order over $100 a 25% deposit is due at the time of order with the balance due one week prior to shipping.
Do you ship international or outside the United States?
Due to Nursery Licensing and shipping requirements, we do not ship outside of the United States or to Freight Forwarding Companies.
What type of plant do we sell?
All our plants are dormant bare root stock unless they are specifically marked as potted. The size of the plant can vary depending on the age and variety, typical 1 year old stock can be 6" to 12", 2-year-old stock 8" to 18".
Do we have free shipping?
Unfortunately, we are not able to offer free shipping due to the rate increases imposed by UPS and USPS this year.
Can I pick up my order at your location?
Yes, you can. You can please your order either online or over the phone and you can come and pick up your order at our location. Note: Please note we do not have a retail store, however you can place your order in advance, and we will have packed and ready for pickup, we ask that you give us 24-hour notice before pickup. We get many requests to come and brouse our store, our facility consist of huge coolers full of dormant bareroot plants, not accessible for the public.
What type of herbicide can I use to kill weeds?
We get many phone calls asking us about this, unfortunately we are not certified or licensed to sell or recommend any herbicide to use. Call your local county extension for information. Find Your Local County Extension
Will I get information on how to plant my berry plants?
Yes, along with your order you will receive a planting guide that will guide you on how to plant and also we will send you our newest planting guide that contains a lot of helpful information on planting and care of your plants.
How will I know when my order is going to be ship?
We will send you an order confirmation when we enter your order in our system along with this confirmation will be your order number and the ship date, once we ship you order you will receive an email with the tracking number information for your shipment.
When will you start taking order for the following spring season?
We start taking orders for the following spring season typically starting in December.
If I place a second order can my orders get combined into one order?
Yes, as long as your initial order documentation has not been sent to the warehouse to pack (typically sent to warehouse the week before order is scheduled to ship). Customer needs to advise they want to add to an existing order.
Are your plants considered GMO or Organic?
We do not produce any genetically modified plants and we do not grow organically planting stock. Did you sell Plug Plants? We do not sell Plug Plants all of our plants are Bareroot plants.
